EXHIBITION DESIGN - ENVIRONMENTAL GRAPHICS - PRODUCT DESIGN

Viafarini was founded in the early nineties with the aim to support young artists and to awaken the public's interest in contemporary art, combining exhibitions and educational programs with visual arts resources available for interdisciplinary collaboration projects

Design an exhibition space that would celebrate Viafarini’s archive: 3,015 portfolios of young Italian artists, two jukeboxes with 150 videos and 5 online databases.

Researching an interactive way to talk about the archive led to transforming the archive itself into an exhibition, like an artwork into other artworks, so that each visitor could experience it in a different personal way. The graphics became part of the exhibition and space, showcasing its dynamic nature, with the large scale anamorphic visual filling part of the room. It is only possible to comprehend it entirely from the entrance, anywhere else it just looks like a wide collection of fragments and colored patterns scattered all over walls and furniture.
